A spree of acid attacks hit London on Thursday. Two men on mopeds carried out five acid attacks in London in less than 90 minutes.
The police said one victim suffered “life changing” injuries. All the attacks seem to be linked and in two cases, the victims had their mopeds also stolen.
A male teenager was arrested and taken to a police station in east London. One of the first attacks was on a 32-year-old moped driver. Two male suspects threw acid on his face before stealing his vehicle and driving away.
About 20 minutes later, the suspects sprayed acid on another victim in Islington. Then around 11:05 pm in Shoreditch, the two suspects threw acid on another man’s face.
They attacked another victim 15 minutes later, whose injuries have been “life changing”. The final attack took place at 11;37 pm on a man who was waiting on his moped in traffic. His moped was also stolen.
This is not London’s first spree of acid attacks. Two aspiring models were attacked this year. Also on Easter, earlier this year, a crowded club in East London was sprayed with acid.
